The Perry Police Department Detective Division is comprised of six detectives and a civilian evidence technician. The primary responsibility of the CID Division is investigating felony level cases and, in special circumstances, misdemeanor cases as well. The division also has the responsibility for maintaining criminal intelligence records, and evidence collection, storage, processing, and submitting to regional crime labs. The detective division investigates all drug cases and executes all drug search warrants inside the City of Perry as well as any gang related activities. Many of the detectives assigned to CID have specialty training to investigate crimes in specific fields such as identity fraud and sexual offense.
